I’m not understanding how that does anything. He hasn’t pitched in two weeks. His arm should be fresh. He’s either healthy or he isn’t. I don’t know how a hypothetical extra week of rest would make him a better pitcher. You don’t **** around in the postseason. You got to win each round before you think about the next round.
Remember when the Braves got cute because Soroka had a better road ERA than home ERA so they decided to throw him in Game 3 and never got to use him again and the season went down in flames? Yeah that was fun.
I’d rather have Tarnok or William Woods over Odorizzi in the NLDS, if that’s what it comes down to. Give me a guy that can maybe miss some bats over a guy that is pedestrian at best and a liability at worst.
I’m not the captain of the odorizzi fan club and I haven’t counted roster spots but if there’s one choice to be made between Stephens, odorizzi and elder then it’s obviously odorizzi
You have an indy ball pitcher and a AAAA guy at best vs someone who has actually pitched in these games before.
