I gotta say...I was a little surprised with the team's body language after ND took the lead. They completely lost all energy and stood there shellshocked/moping around. Which is weird because they have come from behind to win a bunch of games this year and last and are capable of scoring 3-4+ runs in any given inning. It's like they knew they didn't have a comeback in them today.

Nah. Football's high water mark the last decade plus is 8-4, and basketball usually bows out before the Sweet 16.

It's still disappointing though given how dominant their regular season was. It'd be like an ACC basketball team going nearly undefeated during the regular season, losing only 1 or 2 conference games, steamrolling everyone in the conference tourney, then losing in the Sweet 16 to a team who was kind of unexpectedly there. Great season, but ultimately will be remembered for the fact that despite the dominance they didn't even make the CWS.
