The Atlanta Braves

What an interview. Minus not so subtlety throwing your teammates under the bus, this was perfect. Extremely confident and understands what he’s doing.

That definitely wasn’t your typical rookie interview. To be fair though…. “Control what I could control” is about the most gentle way of saying “catch the damn ball” that you’ll ever hear lol.

The second (and third) time he said it was fine. The first time was over the top and right off the bat out of his mouth. Not a good look

I can see DOBoner now. “Hey marcell, ol rook Spence said you can’t catch dick. Care to comment?”

“Hey Ollie, Strider said you blew his first start. What do you think about that?”

Sounds like something Kranitz put in his head before the start honestly. The good thing about "control what I could control" is that he can just say he was referring to the soft contact in the 1st inning.

Lol no way. The lean in, pause for dramatic effect and head nod is 110% “you see those MFs can’t catch?!”

“Control what I can control” is major process talk. Given the rest of his interview, I imagine he lives his entire life around that phrase and didn’t need to hear it from Kranitz who probably wanted him out there sinking and cutting it.

Ozuna is a major problem. His arm is laughably bad but his OF jump is bottom 10% and it’s not like he has speed up make up for it. We also need Bill’s bat at DH.

Quick perusal of baseball savant this morning has Austin Riley in the first percentile of outs above average. Tough scene.

Bill needs to be primary catch over TDA tbh
