The Atlanta Braves

that moment when baseball became a meme just like hockey
Baseball has a long way to go before they are as bad at labor stoppages as hockey, but labor relations in the NHL are pretty good at the moment and have been since their last lockout. Baseball's are currently horrible and getting even worse.

Bettman might still be the worst commish of a professional sports league. There have been 3 separate work stoppages under his watch; one that wiped out an entire season and two others that cut seasons in half. But it's been a long time now since he's done something really stupid. Trying to not be a prisoner of the moment, but perhaps Manfred has surpassed him in stupidity.

Worst commissioner of all time? Legitimate question.
Take your pick with either him or Gary Bettman. There's no other commissioner of another pro league that's remotely close.

Manfred is actually worse at the promotion/marketing side of his sport than Bettman is at is, but Bettman presiding over 3 separate work stoppages that resulted in a loss of 178 regular season games (slightly over 2 full seasons) speaks for itself.

Goodell ain’t done yet. lol
Bettman and Manfred's missteps go to another level though. Goodell actually knows how to promote the sport and has presided over labor peace (probably the single most important job of a commissioner).

The concussion stuff is bad, but that would have happened regardless of the commissioner (structural issue within the game).

I’m not sure if it would have mattered anyways because it’s the NFL but it’s insane how much money they make with the tv money and he made enough on field changes (even if they were late) to save the sport when it legit looked like football’s future was in doubt.

He’s not good, but compared to Manfred he’s a genius.

Also, I know they are arguing over money, but money for what exactly? I haven’t been following this crap show and didn’t know why this was an issue (other than $$, and I know each side is trying to get more of the pie).
