And that’s fair, I think it’s obvious it all in his head. I’m said for years he is going to hit long into his late 30’s. I’ve also said it’s probably not best served if he signs here long term due to our terrible ownership and the contract it will take. I take issue with people giving him crap and not acting like an idiot for a single down the line. Or for talking to the other team.You are yelling at nothing
That’s a fine “down year” - the problem is answering when it’s a down year vs the start of the descent when you’re talking about a 6, 7, 8? year contract for an aging dude who doesn’t appear happy and plays the least valuable position on the diamond
Think about all the bs he has had to withstand over the years.. and he has done it gracefully. I can’t blame him for not rolling over this time, he put up an MVP season and they were a game away from the WS and what happens next? They insult him with a bs contract extension offer and continue to nickel and dime under the faux cloak of a dire post COVID financial situation.
