The Atlanta Braves

I’ve enjoyed not following it anymore. It doesn’t take that long when they actually get on the field to know if they can play or not. Regardless of stars and ranking
When I go in the recruiting forum, which isn't often, I don't understand where some of those guys get the interest they do about recruiting. I do pay attention to the class rankings, because there's an obvious correlation between teams with highly ranked recruiting classes and teams that compete for hardware, but individual players bust all the time. Personally, the heavy interest some show in players that are still in the 8th or 9th grade is kind of weird and off putting.

Remember Owen Pappoe? In the 8th grade, he told some member of the media Tennessee was his "dream school." Last year, many in the RF were puzzled and upset when he verbally committed to Auburn and then followed through with it on signing day. I dipped my toe in and said something akin to "Ok, so he said when he was 14 years old that Tennessee was his 'dream school.' I mean, c'mon, he was 14 years old. These are kids we're talking about, and he changed his mind." I got flamed like I'd never been flamed before, a bunch of dudes claimed to put me on ignore, and even some guy wondered if Gus or an Auburn booster "threatened his family" because he knew he really wanted to go to Tennessee. It was hilarious.

Any of you fellers ever gone back to school as an adult? Is it worth it?

I’ve got a pretty good job as a college dropout but looking for more money.
Really depends on what you are wanting to do or what degree you are pursuing. I went back for my Masters at the age of 30 and it was very challenging, but I pretty much knew I would make X amount of money more with it. Do it now, every single day that goes by makes it harder IMO.

This is true of almost every single thing about life.

I know this is silly but I’m off today and tomorrow and all I can do is think about the Braves game tomorrow. I’m hoping going to see Joker will help

Brian Kenny, the MLB Network champion of statistics, over here talking about clutch Yadier Molina is because he moved two runners over and hit a 60 MPH bloop opposite field single, makes me want to puke.

Surprised he of all people would say that. Kenny is a big sabermetrics/analytics guy, which dismisses the notion about "clutch" being a skill.

I felt terrible for Greene yesterday because only one of those balls (Edman's single to center) was hit hard.

It’s ridiculously silly. I like Kenny but swinging first pitch and hitting a 60 mph single off someone’s glove isn’t clutch is lucky as hell. Hitting a sacrifice fly on a ball six inches off the plate inside is luck.

Greene was great though why did we not use him till Game 4?

I'm 35 and still pursuing my Bachelors (about 6 classes away)s. I've had my associates since '09. Granted, I don't need the degree while in the military, but I'm sure it won't hurt after.

It's so revealing watching everybody scurry and go silent to protect dollar signs.
It's such a farce. Remember when the NBA got up in arms over the transgender bathroom bill and moved the ASG from NC? It was lambasted at the time by the right as a virtue signaling move, and how they are treating this China thing totally confirms that. There was no financial penalty for moving the ASG, and they were able to score political points with players and fans, so they'll "take a stand" on that issue.
