I know some of you whippersnappers are too young to recall this, but that last strike did serious damage to MLB. I still talk to old dudes like me who say they quit baseball because of it and never watched again.

My dad spent his whole life obsessed with baseball until the strike. He grudgingly came back, mostly, for awhile. Kevin Brown's contract was the last straw. I doubt he's watched 30 total innings since.
