Bochy is worth at least 2 or 3 wins in the post season because of his successful San Francisco tenure.

I know @TBrown hates when I do this, but this would be my pitching plan today

Hand- Through Harper
Elder- One time through
AJSS- One time through
Yates- One inning
Minter or Jimenez- Matchup
Minter or Jimenez- Matchup
Iglesias- 9th inning

If Hand gets in trouble in the 1st, I’d bring in Johnson

Elder/AJSS get nine batters. After 9 batters I’d have Johnson on standby if anyone is on base and the tying or leading run is on base/at the plate. I would not let Elder or AJSS face anyone twice. Id tell Minter I might need him for 2 tonight if the game is close and high scoring and we have to use Yates earlier than the 6th.

If you start Hand they’re going to bat Harper cleanup and make Hand face Schwarber and 2 righties before Harper so the better option might be starting Elder or AJSS putting Harper on the first time thru and bringing Hand in for Schwarb-Turner-Harper the second time thru then you would have Minter face that trio late in the game

If they want to put Bohm ahead of Harper for the whole game, then so be it. I’ll live with that.

I’m fine with Elder or AJSS, we don’t need them to be perfect. This team will go as the bats go, this team hinges on the crooked number frames.
