The Atlanta Braves

We needed a LF or SS or somebody to DH, we got a catcher when we had 2 all star catchers already.

I wouldn’t call TDA an all-star despite being solid.

I mean, I would have rather used resources (especially Willy) at LF or SS, but Murphy is a legit star talent. Dude is impressive. An elite two way catcher. And getting him at this price should be illegal. And makes the trade more tolerable.

I see a lot of Notre Dame smoke with Sam Hartman, but Heupel should throw the bag at him lol. He’d put up video game numbers

Depends. Josh can probably run any offense, but he needs a dude with a cannon for the current iteration. I don’t know if Hartman has that

Is his leg about to fall off or something First the Giants, now the Mets. Have to wonder what the doctors are seeing?

So I read an article that these type of signings that are over 6-7 years are incredibly thorough compared to what he got last year where he only signed a 3 year deal (with an opt out after year 1). There might be something where they are worried in year 8-9-10 that something flares up with his leg. It’s weird though. I wonder if maybe one leg is taller than the other or something like Greg Oden?

This is not how it works or how you do business tho
Aside from the lack of current prospects (which can and should be addressed in the next several drafts) what’s wrong with this approach? It is different and unusual, but it’s not as if we’ve made long term commitments to a team full of scrubs. Nobody twisted any arms for the players to commit to the contracts they signed, but it’s a sound move for the organization so long as player performance continues at the current levels.
