The Atlanta Braves

Newk has most trade value because he’s left handed, he is freaking huge (more likely to be durable), and I believe he has more service time remaining

I would be more than happy to go into next season with Folty, Newk, Touki, Gaus and Julio with Wright in wings and Fried in high leverage bullpen role

I would not hesitate to trade any one of them though for the right price
If we’re serious about contending then that rotation needs a true ACE. Folty doesn’t have the temperament and Newk doesn’t have the consistency.

If this is true for Newk, then I’m cashing in asap

Too many options to depend on people who arent healthy. Wilson behind wright for me

I’m just hoping it was all precautionary. I’m a huge Soroka fan though so my opinion can’t be trusted fully

Replace any one of those guys with deGrom, slot him first (obviously) and let the others fall in behind him. That’s a pretty good rotation.

Add CJ Alexander on that list between 15-20 and I agree. Also think Anderson is 3.

His OBP terrifies me

Me too. It’s the one thing that has me nervous but they’ve also pushed him aggressively. I believe his bat is at least average. He’s already the best defender in the system (including the parent club). So at worst you get Byron Buxton or Ender Inciarte which is still really valuable.

Uhhh have you seen Folty’s two seamer? It’s nasty
I saw him throw poorly located, straight-as-an-arrow fastballs that consistently left Dodger Stadium in Game 1, I know that. Both he and Newcomb just walk way too many people, and they are at an age (especially Folty) where I don't really expect significant, leaps and bounds improvement. It isn't like they are both 21 or 22 years old.

I've just never been impressed with any of the arms we've acquired since the rebuild campaign started a few years ago. The jury is still out on a guy like Toussaint or Fried, and Gohara is perpetually hurt, but none of these guys we've acquired (Wisler, Folty, Newcomb, Tyrell Jenkins, etc.) appear to be world-beaters. Jenkins and Wisler were flat-out busts, and the others look like they might be solid pitchers but not bonafide aces. Given the amount of arms we acquired, you'd like for at least one of them, and ideally a few of them, to turn out to be top of the rotation type guys.
