I'm now with Z on Barnes not being a good coach

I've never thought it was a great coach, honestly. Even from his Texas days. He went 24-10 and won no hardware with a team that had Kevin Durant and D.J. Augustin. Rick is a good recruiter and I think is good at getting his team ready to play before a game. However, he is not a good in-game coach. Once the opposition sees something, they adjust to it and it's like he's got no answer after that. He isn't unique in that regard; there are a bunch of good college coaches who are poor in-game coaches.

Barnes is great for Tennessee though. I think only the crowd in the BB forum, which for the last few years has come under the impression that Tennessee is a blue blood in basketball and should be in the Final Four every season, doesn't see it.

I’ve actually never said that. He’s fine. He’s one of the 25 best coaches in the country. He just has a ceiling because he consistently underachieves in the postseason and it’s frustrating. Plus I hate his offense.
