I think we’re all pro Camargo.

The way I read what’s going to happen is Camargo will get the job early, then he’ll either be benched or traded when Riley is ready. Which I don’t hate but, like you guys, think Camargo is the better player.

Best possible scenario is Camargo wins the job and Riley mashes in AAA and gets traded before value craters

He did say if Riley figures it out. Johan has a higher floor but Riley has a higher ceiling.

Exactly my point. Camargo has the higher floor but Riley has a much higher ceiling if he can put it all together. Having another 30+ potential HR guy would be awesome to have.

Yeah, but that’s different. Everyone like the guy, but it was obvious he didn’t handle the Donaldson signing well and had a bad year because of it.

There’s a difference between resting guys and a fantasy where a bench guy gets 100 starts. Only way it happens is if they go straight platoon at 3B.

Let’s say you get have starters rest/miss/whatever a total of 150 starts (between the seven spots Camargo could potentially fill in for). That easily 90 starts for him.

Come on.... Camargo probably isn’t setting foot in the OF on a roster with 5 OFs. Not sure he’s really the #2 option at 1B or SS either.

That was the real problem with him last year. He basically ate his way out of playing middle infield.
