We have a long way to go before a potential dudger series but I would go non traditional against them and use Newk or Fried first time through every game.

Maybe something like Newk-Soroka-matchups, Fried-Julio-matchups, Keuchel as far as he can go, rinse and repeat for 4 and 5.

Yup. Make them keep their LHP platoon on the field as long as we can

Melancon has sucked this year, last year, and in 2017. He's no more viable an option than anybody else in that pen. Luke Jackson, for example, has a 1.38 WHIP and Ks just over 12 per 9. Melancon allows slightly more baserunners per 9 (1.40 WHIP), is less of a strikeout pitcher (8.5 K/9), and walks just as many guys. His 2018 and 2017 seasons were even worse. And he costs 30x more.

I guess you can argue he has a pedigree Jackson and the others do not (183 career saves, 560 career appearances), but other than that I don't know how he makes the bullpen any better.
