Don’t disagree. And honestly the difference between his solid second half last year and the last 5 weeks is his ability to tighten up when runners get on base. After the error and walk in the 5th (?) he slammed the door. When he is bad, he would let it snowball. It’s a dangerous way to pitch, but it’s working.So yes, this is true. And logic usually dictates that it will catch up to him.
But when you’re stuff isn’t that good, walks aren’t kryptonite. I’d rather he walk a guy throwing a slider 3-1, then groove a 90 MPH fastball to just try and get a strike to make it 3-2 and give up extra base hits. It can be frustrating how he knibbles but it’s better than grooving stuff, which he was doing last year
