I mean, he's not 100% wrong. Guess it is a little surprising given that he's from ATL, but he's also probably trying to flatter fans there since he just showed up. They follow pro sports there at a level more commensurate with how fans in the southeast follow college football.

Here's the quote from the article I don't understand though. It's a mess of contradictions:
“But at the end of the day, it is a business right?’’ Swanson says. “Things happen for a reason. I didn’t want to leave. I loved Atlanta. I still do. We accomplished a lot there, but I was pushing for even more. It’s just that I want to win so bad. I hate losing. Like I literally think we should win everything. I’m not saying we should go 162-0, but I’d like to. So I wasn’t sure Chicago was the right place.’’
Is it a business, or does he want to "push for even more" and "win everything?" He left a team where he won 5 NL East titles in a row and a WS, and has a roster construction that appears primed to compete for years, but left for a team that hasn't won a playoff series in 5 years.

It's OK to say you just left for the money, and/or your new wife wanted you to play there. He doesn't honestly think the Cubs give him a better chance to win stuff than Atlanta does, right?

Someone tell dansbutt with his “vandy” education the BRAVES put half a milly more asses in seats than the sCrUBS

but it just “means more”!!!

They've also stunk for the last 5 years.

I love the Braves, but the fervor for the Cubs when they're good is in excess of the fervor for the Braves when they're good.
