I'm also seeing talk of the shift being banned introduced as well. That is one of the dumbest ideas ever.

Ever seen a league wring its hands more over rule changes? NBA changed defensive rules and NFL does things all the time without much fanfare. MLB is like a group of drunk PE coaches yelling at each other.

...and all of the hand-wringing about pace of play is more or less enforcing rules that are already in the rulebook.

I'm good with limiting number of relief pitcher changes. I'd take robot umps. But I hate replays in all sports. They aren't worth it. The last two minutes of the Arkansas game was awful.

None of this is worth missing games over, and I assume it's not the reason. The arbitration rules are horrendous. Get players to FA quicker, and call it a day.

At least in basketball they usually get the call right which is the goal. The problem with MLB is they take forever and just default to the call on the field no matter what.
