Remember last year when you said this about Rio Ruiz? How did that end?

Riley is clearly more talented than Ruiz (and also when I said that was clearly sarcasm).

In all honesty, look at his at bat last night on his double off Mills. Fought off a couple tough breaking balls, then took a double down the line.

I doubt he’s gonna be a 125 OPS+/132 wRC+ guy but the adjustments he has made over the last year and improved eye are legitimate.

Whats his power plays lol? He has 5 XBH. He is playing very well lately, but this current version of him is not a power hitter. As long as his K’s are down his power will be too.

We all know he is capable of playing well for 3 weeks it’s those long stretches where he goes on the milk carton.

I’d trade him right now

He’s so strong he can still hit 20-25 homers over a full season just by accident. Maybe he isn’t a guy who slugs .500+ like we thought...but maybe instead of slugging .500 and 30 homers with a .310 OBP we get a guy who slugs .450 with 20 homers and a .350 OBP. I’d take that in a heartbeat
