What happened to Skenes between Air Force and LSU? He was pretty good at AF, but was there anything that indicated he'd be that good? It was even more dramatic than how DK performed for us last year. DK's numbers last year were similar/marginally better than his numbers at Northern Colorado...Skenes got eye-poppingly better.

This dude would have been a good pitcher in the Majors last year. There aren't many dudes whose K rate explodes going from the MW to SEC.

I don’t think he seriously pitched until his sophomore year at Air Force.
 
Yeah, definitely limited sample size. Was he throwing that hard at Air Force? He was very much a two-way guy until he came to LSU.
I don’t think it’s about a limited sample size. IIRC he didn’t pitch at all until late in HS around pandemic time. This is practically his third year pitching.
