Pardon my incursion into your thread, but I gots an MiLB general question.

Was at a AAA game tonight and watched a guy take a called 3rd strike.
He then turned around and appealed the call. lol wut?

The whole stadium, and the umpire, turned and watched the replay on the Jumbotron - which indicated the pitch was outside.

Called 3rd strike… reversed.

Was this new rule known to y’all? Thoughts?

I knew they had been testing new rules in the minors, like the pitch clock and pick off rules.

I had no idea they had introduced challenging balls and strikes via video replay.

One guy turned around and challenged a called strike in 1-1 count. Think I counted 4 different guys challenging. Took maybe 10 seconds each time.
