The Atlanta Braves Thread

After the next couple days of snowfall I will have enough on the ground to hide an Ozzie Albies top of strike zone to the ground. Going to be sitting at about 3 feet.

the supposed “world wide leader in sports” ranked Derek Jeter a better baseball player than Albert Pujols

I’ve over this top 100 list a few times and still haven’t seen Tom Glavine’s name wasn’t even listed on the “snub” list, what a joke.

At first I was like "Eh, I'm not entirely sure he is a top 100 player" but I opened the list and see guys like Phil Niekro at 99 and went "Yeah, he was snubbed."

Go look up Niekro’s ranking in all time WAR. It will blow your mind. He’s ahead of Steve Carlton and Bob Gibson.

It's because he was still chipping a WAR of 1 or so until the last several years of his career until he was 48 though, no? Don't get me wrong, that's unbelievable and there is a lot to be said for longevity, but was he a better pitcher than Tom Glavine?

I think they’re neck and neck. Niekro played on some awful teams but still had eye popping numbers. I mean- he threw 200+ innings at age 47.
