The Atlanta Braves Thread

I’m fine with a couple spring training invites or cheapies but for the first time probably ever I do not want to sign a serious SP

Charlie-Max-Ian-Kyle should have 4 spots and there’s roughly a dozen candidates for 5th

I loved what he did in game 4 but I just don’t believe in Kyle long term.

Tucker is a #5 at best.

Muller I’m a big fan of I like his trajectory.

Ynoa is I think a bullpen arm but still young.

I don’t know if Soroka will ever pitch again.

I don’t want to spend $30M but another $10M-$15M for a decent #4 with Charlie’s injury and the huge inning jump for Ian would be a nice cushion.

Now…I would rather pay Fred and bring back Soler/Eddie/Adam so it comes to that give me that option instead if we can’t afford another starter.

You just named 5 SPs and still didn’t talk about Spencer Strider, Bryce Elder or Freddy Tarnok.

Kind of makes the point.

Also, we might actually be in the position next year that if during the season we need to address a significant need, salary won't be an issue and we'd go after a big name with an expiring contract. Might not have to hope that we can build/replace from within.

Also, just on a personal note, I'm FINALLY closing on my house tomorrow. Between delays on getting my other house sold, a potential home purchase falling apart at the last minute (due to the sale of my house not going through as initially contracted) and then just having to search the market to find what I wanted, it's been a seven month process. My house went under contract on 4/28/21. It was supposed to close on 6/13/21. It finally closed on 8/13/21. I'm so ready to be done with all of this. lol

Apparently Duvall is Arb eligible the Arb number is roughly $9.5Mil. That’s $2.5Mil more than the $7Mil mutual option, I’d be good with that number.

I love y’all fools but we ain’t even had the parade yet and we’re arguing over which prospect one person thinks sucks vs who another doesn’t believe in? Good god boys, enjoy something positive just a little bit for once in your lives.

Not sure if some of you realize it but…

Gotta focus on getting one for Ronnie

I assume those guys need some more seasoning.

It depends on the budget. If we can spend money like crazy like I hope then let’s get another starter. If not, then spend on the bats.

Kyle needs a place. I think he’d be an ace reliever. I just do not believe in him a starter until I see it more than 2 starts at a time.

I want as many more as we can possibly get but the first half of the season counts just as much as the second and Ronnie, very deservedly so, just got one that he very much fscking earned

I was not saying that Ronnie didn’t earn one. Poor choice of words. I just want him to catch the last out of our hopefully next one

He was the best pitcher in AAA for the season and the stuff coming out of his hand is better than everyone else we ran up in Atlanta so

Let’s assume that Kyle’s floor is league average. He’d win 12-15 games as 4th/5th starter with this lineup behind him.
