The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness

If Snit were not our manager, we'd likely be leading the 3rd WC spot right now, if not better. How many games did he cost us running Sale out there for the 9th inning in a blow out? How many games did he cost us letting Ozuna run out there every night with a bum hip for 2 months? How many games did he cost us with poor lineup/BP management? How many games did he cost us by not resting players properly?

We could legitimately be 4-5 games over .500 even with all the injuries if we had a competent manager.
Who you gonna rest with Profar, Riley, Acuña, Murphy playing less than 100 games, no MLB SS for 5 months and your corner OFs, CF and 2B AWOL for the entire 1st half?

Snit showed the energy of a slug and leaves pitchers on the mound to die way too much, but in my mind this was a lot of bad things coming together which exposed some Salvation Army roster decisions.
yeah, no one was overcoming the injuries, suspensions et al. There are many who could’ve handled it much better, but playoffs were never on the table. Snit sucks, AA sucks. But not exclusive reasons we aren’t in the post season.

Resting Ozuna certainly should have been done. Honestly, he should have been sent to the IL. May be giving Riley some extra rest. And obviously letting your franchise icon with 2 knee surgeries DH more often seems like a no brainer. Acuna ended up tweaking his calf and our moron manager let him play through it.

And don't get me started on pushing Holmes far past his previous inning ceiling. I'm pretty sure every one in the world predicted an injury there except for Snit.

I’ll never be confused with a snit apologist but ALL ROADS LEAD TO ANTHOPOULOS

I guess my thing is that I always think managers get too much credit and blame. People get hung up on lineups and in game stuff but honestly I think their impact is more day to day in the clubhouse getting ready for the game.

Yep… and we’ll never really know how much is AA trying to be smart and how much is him doing what he’s told. It’s been obvious since day 1 that there was no MLB SS on the roster and the bench and bullpen were bargain bin even though there was nobody knocking on the door in AAA.

I give him a pass on Profar, but how do you go into the season with no good option in RF knowing that your MVP is out until June and your DH can barely walk?
They picked up the tab on Kim and Kinley at about $5mn for absolutely no 2025 reason so I’m inclined to believe ownership is not constraining payroll to an inhibiting degree.

AA is to blame as well. Zero reason we should have went into the season with Arcia and Allen our top options at SS. Profar isn't completely his fault, but we had bigger needs than another OFer. And certainly we would have been better off just keeping Laureano if we were just going to add a OFer anyways. And not getting BP help was perhaps an equally bad crime.

I realize it's take a really good chef to turn a low grade sirloin into a 5 star meal. But Snit basically took that sirloin and turned it into McDonalds.

I really hope that’s not true at least to some extent. Hard to believe the strategy going into this year was to roll the dice at SS, RF and the bullpen and just bank on hitting 300 HRs again.

Thanks guys. Other than Shapen and Fluff, I didn't really know any specifics about any of their other players. Really informative.
Who’d have a thunk a Wolverine and Buckeye could come together and produce such a bangin’ pod. And the funky intro music had me tappin my toes!
