If I can do math:If you ever get rich, go in with a group and buy a large share of a professional sports team. You'll make 6 - 7 times your investment when it sells in 15-20 years
Math is powerIf I can do math:
From February 25, 1989 (the day Jerry bought the Cowboys) to today, the S&P has gone from 287 to 6637, or 23x (not including dividends and/or reinvesting those dividends).
The Cowboys are estimated to currently be worth $12.5B, which given today's news might be conservative. Jerry bought the team for $140m. In 36 years, he's made 89x. Not too shabby.
Who you gonna rest with Profar, Riley, Acuña, Murphy playing less than 100 games, no MLB SS for 5 months and your corner OFs, CF and 2B AWOL for the entire 1st half?If Snit were not our manager, we'd likely be leading the 3rd WC spot right now, if not better. How many games did he cost us running Sale out there for the 9th inning in a blow out? How many games did he cost us letting Ozuna run out there every night with a bum hip for 2 months? How many games did he cost us with poor lineup/BP management? How many games did he cost us by not resting players properly?
We could legitimately be 4-5 games over .500 even with all the injuries if we had a competent manager.
