The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness

Heupelthetical Question:

Would losing to UF, Bama, and UGA cause this season to be a disappointment now after watching the first two weeks?

See the thing about losing to UF and Bama isn’t necessarily because of how the Vols look but those two teams.

If we loss to UGA, Bama and OU I can live with it. If we lose to UF after what I saw last week and there’s a 50/50 they have an interim head coach, I’ll be crushed.

Big day for rookie of the year odds. We go against Horton. Baldwin is starting from here on out. Collins has been in freefall over the last month and is getting fewer ABs. If we tag Horton for 4-5 runs, it could just about lock up ROY for Drake.

I feel like our starting 22 matches up well with basically any team in the country. But Bama and UGA still have a hefty talent edge over us down the roster. Plus the Bama game is on the road where they haven't lost since Texas in 2023. So I would not be overly disappointed with those 2 losses.

But we are a good bit more talented than UF, imo. And we are clearly better coached. Idc where this game is played, a loss to UF this year would be really disappointing, providing we don't have any major injuries to key players between now and then.

I don't think we'd know until closer to the end of the year. So much of that has to do with whether or not UF and Alabama right the ship.

If:
- UF keeps dropping games + they fire Billy + they still beat us
- Alabama finishes something like 8-4 but they still beat us
- We lose to UGA
- Win all the other games

I think it ends up being more of a "what if" season as opposed to an outright disappointing season. If what I laid out above occurs, there's a decent chance that a win over OU ends up being a really nice one, bigger than expected.
