I have a hell of a lot more responsibilities and stress and consequences for my work/actions now but I’ve never approached how hard I worked as a student athlete in my adult life.

No lie. People truly don’t get the amount of time that goes into it. I was just playing low level NAIA golf and the time management part of it alone nearly got me. It’s a completely uninformed take.

I feel like I bust my ass at work and I know I don’t make as much as some of my coworkers that only do the minimum, and I know for damn certain that what we’re paid is only a drop in the bucket to what the corporation makes in revenue, but if I spent any amount of time worrying about that….. I’d go crazy. Give these kids their piece of the pie, I know I’d want it if I was in their shoes.

Id give anything to go back to that schedule for myself. D2 wrestler. That schedule was much easier and filling then my one is now.

Just something to chew on - you could consider working for one of them for free for a bit until you feel like you've earned it, then using that experience to go try to find a job elsewhere and get paid.
