It's been a coaching graveyard even without the NCAA stuff. By the time the sanctions run out you're already going to be on the hot seat. The only reason I can think for anybody to take the job is because they just want to cash out and retire early.

I somewhat overrated Danny White the AD and what his impact is. Sure having a good AD is nice, but overall that’s far from the most important thing

Ultimately having Fulmer and all of the booster drama about him out of the way is huge and necessary. We needed a professional aggressive AD from outside. I think it’s going to eventually work out but the situation was still terrible for us to be hiring a coach

I should clarify. I trust Danny White, I just thought him being in charge would make the job more attractive.

I thought they could get a bigger name with White as AD.

I’m not as down on Heupel BTW. If he produces fun offenses and makes a bowl by year 3 and we got to the other side of **** like Andy Dufrene I’ll be happy with what he’s doing. Was just hoping for something more exciting. But that’s my fault for getting my hopes up lol.

I’m shocked they didn’t give Herman a call.
