The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness

I still think that JD stays in Atlanta, which I don’t think will necessarily take us out of pursuing Kris Bryant too.

I’m not really into bringing JD back at the current price but it better take us out of the Bryant sweepstakes if they do, haha.

If, IF, we resign JD (which I think happens) we still have prospect capital that we need to take advantage of. Bryant can play LF and fill in at 3B to give JD some rest.

Unless they could sign JD, then pull off a trade for Lindor. But if they trade for Lindor, then Dansby has to be part of that package, or he needs to be traded for help elsewhere. He doesn’t need to waste away on our bench (while also diminishing his trade value).

You, uhh, do know the organization we’re all fans of in here, right?

Totally, so not committing big money to JD (thus trading prospects for a RH power bat) is more their move. I just have to wonder why hasn’t JD signed elsewhere? Why haven’t the Braves publicly pulled out of the bidding? IMO, the Kris Bryant arbitration situation is holding up the market. Unless some team comes up with a PTBNL trade scenario (satisfactory for both teams) that works for either one year of Bryant or two years of Bryant, he’s not getting dealt until that situation is resolved.
