The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness

-Ansley is very confident in the defense as a whole

- Roman Harrison is going to be a star

- Ansley said we won’t be giving up big plays this year like we did the last couple of years

- DL is large. Very large. Staff doesn’t think they’ll be a liability

- Henry T will be freshman all sec. possibly all American

- Pruitt said he came in last year over confident and was humbled very quickly. Won’t make that mistake again this year

- Feels 8 wins is the floor

- JG is actually a legitimate QB. The hype is very real. No fluff

- If the season started tomorrow, Trey Smith would start. As of right now he is cleared to play. Staff keeping that quiet

- Eric Gray is that dude. If he stays healthy, he could win the heisman

- Palmer is going to have a big year

- Watch for Crouch in goal line formations

- staff said they will NOT be losing to Florida this year

- the team has a chip on their shoulders this year due to the fact nobody is talking about them.

I've bolded the ones that could be remotely true. Hell, I think JG showed he was a "legitimate" (as in, pretty good) QB last year given that when he had time to throw the ball he could make nice throws. I bolded the one about Henry T because Pruitt made a point in his first press conference about how he "got it" and the game comes naturally to him - he doesn't blow smoke up people's asses, especially true freshmen.

I wouldn’t say Crouch getting the ball in certain goal line formations is that much of a stretch.

Crouch could conceivably get the rock in short yardage situations but we’ll see. Banks serves the same purpose

Is the hype about Roman Harrison purely from the press corps' viewing of some fall camp footage? Harrison was a lower-tier 4-star with an unimpressive offer list. According to 247 we were the only SEC school that offered him.

I am a buyer of Henry T hype because of how aggressively he was recruited (almost everybody thought he'd be a Bammer) and comments Pruitt has already made about him - not sure about Harrison. He seems like a dude that might need more time to develop if he is going to be a good player.

So many concussions.

I believe he told the media earlier in the year he didn’t want to play catcher anymore then the Pirates had him play catcher anyway and boom... another concussion.

That is just not accurate at all. He has continually said he wants to continue to play catcher except for after his most recent concussion where Dejan (a major hack and bigger tool than DOB) reported he said he was done which he pretty much immediately refuted ever saying that and wants to continue playing the position.

Gotcha. I knew he refuted it but I thought that was after he got some blowback.

Either way, doesn’t really move the needle for me.

The only way that I would say it could potentially move the needle is not in terms of his play but through potentially working with Alex Jackson. Cervelli has been a career in coaching if he wants it, when he started working with Diaz he had seemingly started to stall and had a real bad case of the yips. Really credits cervelli with turning things around. A month is probably not enough time to make a huge impact, but definitely a positive influence in the clubhouse particularly on young catchers.
