Nobody (in the division) wanted it. And when we went to New York and we played that five-game series, when we won three out of five? We should have won all five. We walked out of there saying, they’re in first place? That ****ing team is in first place? You know what I’m saying? We said, them son of a bitches can’t play with us. You know what I mean? And we were hurting. And there were some things that we could have done a little better. We didn’t actually have the total personnel. But we stood tall with them. And they were in first place. And we walked out of there and said, “Nah-nah-nah-nah. Uh-uh. Bruh, we’ve just got to keep getting after it till **** comes together.” And we kept getting after it. We never stopped our work ethic. We never stopped going about our business the way we went about our business.

It’s just insane to me that in that article Ron is talking about how much better Ozzie can get and I kind of scoffed at it, then I realized he still doesn’t turn 25 till January.

229 PA’s still isn’t a ton. And he had a .720 OPS/92 wRC+ since coming back from his injury which at catcher isn’t bad.

I understood the 2022 commitment. But the fully guaranteed 2023 didn’t make sense.

How many PA’s did he have in 2020 when proclaimed great?
