The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

We'd have to go like 33-9 or something crazy like just to get to 86 wins. And then we'd have to hope most of other teams ahead of us were below .500 the rest of the way.

There's a decent chance. A few of those teams are playing bad at the present time.

But giving the ball to Fedde and Carrasco and praying the offense can overcome their continuous bad starts is asking too much

Carrasco is out already, so we need Sale back and healthy, better results from Strider, Waldrep to continue to shine, and Wentz to keep pitching as he has.

That’s all.
That's not all. Again, we would essentially have to play better then the Brewers have played since the ASB, plus hope that the teams in front of us play .500 ball or worse.

This season was done-zo a while back. The only thing we are doing now is ruining our chance for a top 5 pick, ruining our chances to have a protected pick against signing a FA with a Quality offer, and ruining our chances of getting an extra pick for Baldwin by not starting him everyday.

Acuna should DH at least once a week for the rest of the season to help prevent injury. Sale and Strider shouldn't be allowed the throw more than 90 pitches in any remaining start. And we should be calling up guys like Waddell, Harris, etc, to see if they might have a future on this team in the pen or on the bench.

Eric Hartman and John Gil continue to rake in Augusta.

9th round pick Logan Braunschweig is killing it in Rome with some impressive EVs. Not much in game power showing up yet, but he could be one to watch.

David McCabe is really coming along this season as a hitter. Since June 7, he has a line of .322/.388/.491 (.878 OPS). And since June 22, that line is .350/.422/.528 (.949 OPS). With Riley and Olson locking down 3b and 1b, I don't know how McCabe might fit on this team. And that's both figuratively and literally, as McCabe looks like he hasn't missed any meals.

I’d rather do it that way and/or at least go back to an unbalanced schedule. With the rule changes and the elimination of League Presidents 30 years ago, AL/NL is an arbitrary label at this point.

It is but having an Eastern Conference and Western Conference in baseball is so un-American. Even my liberal self wouldn't succumb to such pissing on traditions to call it that.

They've already pissed on the traditions though. There was no regular season interleague play until the 90s, then they added a couple of weeks worth of games around the middle of the season, now they've added more and it is throughout the season.

Still call it AL and NL then. A lot of it can probably be achieved by just switching 5-10teams like they did with the Brewers and Astros.

I’m so old that I remember the Braves in the NL West playing 30 games a year on the west coast at 10:35. And you had to stay up because there was no internet and the newspaper deadline was midnight. And ESPN hadn’t invented the scroll yet so you just had to watch Sportscenter and wade through a bunch of catchphrases until they happened to say the score you wanted to hear.

And we LIKED it!
