And the biggest thing, I still think the manager has sunk this team. I don't believe managers matter a lot but when it's bad, they can tank a season, which I think has happened. I think a new voice, new energy could REAALLLLY turn things around.

It's worth noting that the Braves are 9th in the MLB in runs scored since the start of July. And this is without Acuña and Riley for the most of that time span. So I do think we can be a little optimistic about the offense rebounding a bit in 2026 if people remain healthy and we adequately address SS and the bench in the off-season.

The problem is AA has terrible asset management. I understood the Profar move. But they could have had Laureano, Griffin Canning and Jose Quintana for the same price of Profar and been a much better baseball team. And yeah, losing 81 games of Profar is not AA's fault, but that's 3 ballplayers that would help the team, not one average one.

Yeah it made zero sense to non-tender Laureano. The only thing I can assume is that he needed the extra money to use on some other moves that didn't materialize (like the Hoffman/Scott fiascos), and he ended up pivoting to Profar out of desperation.

By the way, Profar is sporting a .250/.357/.451 (.809 OPS) since coming back from suspension. To go along with that he has 13.7% BB rate, 16.7% K rate, .201 ISO, .354 wOBA and 128 wRC+

Also Eric Hartman has a 124 wRC+ in Augusta on the year with 35 steals. Won't be 20 until the middle of next season. Some really good second half performances in the minors.

Hartman is definitely a dude to watch going forward. I don't understand why he isn't getting more props considering he's much younger than the league average and he's hitting better than a lot of the players older than him.
