The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

You don’t have to punt on 2026. Just recognize that a guy like Sale isn’t your future and let somebody else rent him for a prospect. You can still go sign a couple of pitchers and an actual MLB SS in the offseason, get Profar back to play LF and win in 2026.

Or get an actual MLB SS because of Sale.

With what money/prospects?

We might already need 2 pitchers for next year even if Sale is on the roster.

The Braves have been a tax team. They have been top 5-7 in payroll in previous years. It's clear they wanted to get under the tax and reset the penalties (probably draft purposes most likely if it's from AA). I don't agree with that, but they usually spend money. They should have around $50M-$60M available next year.

Also, Liberty relies on ticket sales/The Battery as much as anyone in baseball ownership. If they are a 75-win team and tickets sales/Battery revenue drop, I would like to think that would cause some sort of urgency.

Moving on to realistic trade assets, Murphy should be on the block. He's currently playing like a 3-4 WAR catcher and showing plenty of pop. Cards, Pads, Astros, and Giants would probably have interest. Maybe the Royals too.

This is why I think they will be forced into activity eventually. It’s going to hurt the bottom line really soon

I’m going to a game at the end of this month and ticket prices are already way down. I’m waiting until the day before lol
There is a FB group that has credible sellers. I can send you the link if you are interested. I bought my tickets through them for the game we went to in April. Saved around $150 just in fees.

People were posting Chophouse tix for around $150 each back in Mid April.

Any recommendations for things to do with kids (Ages 3 & 10) in Washington DC? Going to a Nats game, Natural History Museum, Zoo, and American Bible Museum. Any suggestions?
