I'm really good at getting up and then I go on 2-3 week stretches where I don't hit anything and get back to base. Or that lovely Cards series where we blow 2 parlays ok b2b days.

I was betting before it became legal, so I guess it didn't change much for me. I totally see how people get in trouble with it though. There definitely is a temptation to bet games purely to entice yourself into watching them, although I'm pretty good at resisting it. I try and bet only when a line or odds seem off, and not based on either 1) trying to make watching that game more entertaining or 2) betting on a game based on your opinion of what the outcome will be.

I also never bet UT football because I'm incapable of thinking clearly about the odds.

There's no way I could bet on UT sports or the Braves. I couldn't be objective and It would make me completely miserable.

It makes it better when they win. And it sucks 10x worse when they lose

What's funny is that I've had quite a bit of success last year and this year betting the Braves. Very selective, pick spots where it seems like we have good RL or ML odds relative to the pitching matchup. Also pretty good at Titans and Falcons bets.

I think it is because I am big fans of all of those teams but not, as John Currie would say, a "wacko." I just follow/watch the Vols too much, and am too close to it, to objectively analyze anything gambling-related about them.

At this point buddy, I would enforce the Pete Rose rule on myself. Don’t bet on your own team. It’s for your own good.

If you’re emotional with your money, certainly do not bet on sports.
