Why would max give away his FA years for less AAV than he’s going to get through arbitration?

Why would the Braves want a 37 year old pitcher under contract?

At least say something that makes an ounce of sense

160 million GUARANTEED TODAY isn’t bad for a pitcher with years of arbitration left and the uncertainty of the position…..
