I don't live in Atlanta, but best I could figure it was the hipster, anti-development types who didn't like it because it was "artificial" or too corporate or in the suburbs. People from that ilk oppose developments no matter what/where they are.If you ever go down there and actually spend a little time there, I don’t know how you can’t enjoy it. I like to go when I’m passing through when there’s not even a game.
Most of the backlash was from politicians regarding the loss of tax revenues, the local street vendors( both licensed and unlicensed)parking lot owners, and MARTA.
