Some people find a second wind and it’s quite amazing how they do so. Tom Brady has basically had 2 separate HOF careers (you could possibly argue 3). Having a pitcher throw more than 5 innings seems rare these days, glad there are still a few hosses out there.Amazing how he's doing this...he looked completely washed in 17/18/19.
Belichick is certainly not responsible for all of it, no. Brady has been the consistent beneficiary of some great defenses, not just in NE but last year in TB, but Brady haters go off the reservation when they talk about him like he's some scrub who has been elevated his entire career by great coaching or great situations. Are there still people thinking Billy Boy Belichick is responsible for his success???
This is well thought out but it’s still a weak argument. He has had some really good to great defenses, sure, but he has also rewrote all the QB records with largely a bunch of average offensive players especially WRsBelichick is certainly not responsible for all of it, no. Brady's success is primarily a function of his extremely high football IQ and longevity (which is a direct result of his high football IQ). It isn't incorrect to also note that he has consistently played in great team situations throughout his career that he didn't really have anything to do with, but I wouldn't say his success is primarily a function of that. There have been plenty of other players who have also played in great situations during their career and haven't won at Brady's level, or haven't won much of anything.
How so? I said that the principal reason for his success is that he's really smart and has tremendous longevity/durability (which is a direct result of his football intelligence). Those are things that he (not his team) has and are totally within his control, and that's how he's been able to rewrite all the QB records. This is well thought out but it’s still a weak argument. Perhaps I misread but it almost felt a little backhanded compliment to theHow so? I'm not really pooh-poohing what he's achieved at all, but I will acknowledge that he's consistently played on teams with great defenses that maximize his chances for success.
It's certainly no lower than Peyton's, no. I'd say they're pretty equal. And Brady has had much less help throughout his career on offense than Peyton did (although Brady has had much better defenses). Brady also has had more longevity than Peyton did.Perhaps I misread but it almost felt a little backhanded compliment to the. Is his football IQ that much higher than Peyton’s or even at all?
How is it not giving him his due? I said the primary reason for Brady's success is his intelligence and longevity/durability.People will do everything except give him his due.
