With Markakis struggling and with Travis demeritte’s continued hot streak (another double early in Gwinnett game) do we drop Joyce and put nick in the 4th outfield slot with demeritte getting a chance to start?

Seems far fetched with Markakis being a vet and everyday player. But my question is what else does demeritte have to do to get a chance? He’s young we control him for a long time and he’s got some pop. I think we roll the dice time now. Matt Joyce has been good but a 34 year old pinch hitter only gets you so far. Markakis’ 12 hr and 35 double seasons aren’t bad, but they aren’t going to get us over the hump either. I would love to see us give the kid a chance and see if we can get half the production Riley is giving us. Let the kids play!!!

Maybe they viewed DK and Madbum as close enough that it’s not worth the prospects? Possibly wouldn’t have to give up as much for relief help? That’s how I see it
