The problem with Acuna 4th is who bats after him. Same with Freddie if Acuna hits first. If they are set on Donaldson hitting second, then they really needed to add guy a that could protect Freddie or Ronald in the 4th or 5th spot. Or go get a real leadoff hitter

Bowman also said the Marlins are still asking for a “current Braves position player” which I thought was 100% Ozzie but why would he word it that way?

If they’ll settle for Dansby or Camargo that’s a big deal.

That's true, but unless the Phillies, Mets, and Nats continue to underperform, we do not have a playoff roster right now. We have several holes with 3 lineup spots that are league average or worse to go along with a need in the rotation and another top tier bullpen arm.

Yeah, welcome to the Braves. Win on a budget, don't invest in a godsend of performing prospects. Granted, I am still astonished with the Donaldson deal... it gave me a glimmer of hope but then... nada Dansby must be hitting balls 530ft off the tee... what do I know

The problem with Acuna batting 4th is that 3 people on the team will get more at bats than him, one of which is league average AT BEST.

But yes, to your point, he would not get one pitch to hit, ever, with Brian McCann/Tyler flowers on deck. Or markakis or whoever

I kinda get signing Machado since you lose just a draft pick but trading for a catcher with two years team control when you a top catching prospect doesn’t make sense to me

I want Donaldson cleanup too. But we have zero options at the 2 spot I trust.

Badly. If not Machado then we need to make a move for Realmuto or someone. We have 4 league avg or worse hitters in our lineup right now, not counting the pitcher. That won’t get it done
