Big time pumped about hiring JC. Im just shocked we didnt end up with the QB coach from St Mary's Scool for the Deaf and Blind.

Injuries, bad shooting night, meet Duke in a 1-2 matchup and lose to lottery picks, who knows. This is obviously the best team we’ve ever had but no telling what happens in a tournament. Since we’re UT I assume it’ll be disappointing, but really enjoying watching these guys in the meantime. I am not gonna miss a minute of this season.

It’s okay. I was wrong and will take it. I still don’t trust Barnes in the tournament. But this team is so good it might not matter.

Also, if we lose a 1-2 game in the elite eight by single digits I don’t think the season is a failure or even a disappointment. I just think this is actually the first time in program history you can look at a Tennessee basketball team and say “Yeah we could win the national title and I wouldn’t be surprised.” Even that 31 win 07-08 team had flaws (Chism wasn’t ready/lack of a true PG) where I never truly thought they could win the title. This team doesn’t have. Probably the only flaw is at backup big man and you can fix that by moving Admiral to 4 and Grant to 5 and plug in Pons/Bowden/Turner at the 2/4 spots.

I guess I would turn that around and ask how many coaches in college BB there are whom you WOULD trust in the tournament? Three or four? I don't really fault us for not hiring Tom Izzo; I think with just about everybody outside of a small handful of guys you build a program and you get in the tournament and take your chances.

Pretty sure this team would beat that 08 team by a dozen most nights. Chism is one of my favorite Vols ever though.

They are very good, but The Vols may be one of the few teams that can match up with them. They are top heavy and not deep at all
