He was 6th in fWAR last year for second basemen and that includes the worst two months someone could have. Even if he never improves (which is almost impossible) and stays a 4 win player, you just locked locked that guy up for less than what Randal Grichuk will make. It’s a bargain. That’s not even considering he’s only 22 years old

It’s actually 7 years/$31M (buyout: $4M)=$35M

It can then be

8 years/$38M ($4M buyout)=$42M
9 years/$45M

Could be wrong but assuming year 6 and year 7 are worth $5M each, when you consider the 8 FA years the Braves bought out between Acuna and Albies:

Acuna: $56M
Ozzie: $24M

8 years/$80M. Half of what Chris Davis got in FA a couple years ago. Less than what Aroldis Chapman and Kenley Jansen got AS CLOSERS.
