The All Things Cycling Thread

Voodoo came in this morning so I busted out all the repairs I could. We're all caught up, so I started building.... This is a major upgrade from my Rocky Mountain frame. I'll go to 27.5" wheels next month, probably. Again, the fork will be more than the frame... I want a White Brothers... Haha.

This summer, retailers suggest that mid-range bike sales have been hit hard by the poor weather – one shop reported in June that its top-selling clothing line was winter overshoes – but in 2010 and 2011, the market in high-end bikes, those costing more than £5,000, was more than bucking the recession.

New mtb bike frame is a completely different beast. Shorter wheel base means it handles a lot tighter. It's going to take some getting used to.

Tacks on the top of the final climb today at the Tour. That'd piss me off.

A few years ago I was victim to some tacks some idiot put at the bottom of Suck Creek Mountain on the 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge.

As if that wasn't bad enough (for me a flat tire is a small disaster), I then discovered that my spare tire also had a hole in it. Then the SAG was out of tubes (other people flatted there, too).

Fortunately, another rider gave me a tube at the rest stop.

43 mile road ride after 10-ish on the mountain bike. I'm sore. I was a nice guy and stopped to change a flat for a guy that was walking his Trek home... He wasn't carrying a spare. Luckily, I had grabbed mine as I walked out.

Road the mtb in the rain yesterday for the first time. Hard, but fun. I drove 40 minutes for the trail without looking at the weather, so I wasn't turning around.

Sick of the freakin' rain. We've only had four completely dry days this month. And then after it rains we have this cool humid crap for the rest of the day.
