The All Things Cycling Thread

So, today I was passed while waiting at a red light by a cyclist. I then had to carefully re-pass him. Is it illegal to jump line?

You mean is it illegal for a bicycle to bypass a line of cars on the right side? I don't think so.

30 miles yesterday on the mountain bike. Found out I can bike 13 miles down to the oceanfront on nothing but trails. Was quite wet and wet sandy soil isn't the best for speed huh?

Oh, and 45+ mph sustained winds at the oceanfront. That two mile stretch back into the headwind was the second toughest exercise I've ever done. At one point I was stopping and the wind started blowing me backwards, true story.

And the nice riding temps have plummeted. Time to bundle back up, it's gonna get cold and miserable. Rode home in a soaking 48° rain last night, felt pretty good.

As in super effing boring?

No tiring. Never thought that an hour and half trainer ride I'd be pedaling for the entire time. Got the trainer set up in front of the TV so I watched most of bad boys. That movie might have the best opening scene of all time

Buying a new bike in the $500 range is usually never a good idea and fat bikes are way more expensive than other types.

Yah. I got a road bike to from Bikes Direct as a starter. It's firmly in the meh category. I'll buy a real road bike in the summer and simply cry when I buy the fat tire in a couple of days.

Hopefully I'll get a couple of good snowy months in the Smokies out of the fat tire.
