The 2023 March Madness “Other Games” Thread

Could see us using

Santi

JJJ/Phillips
ON

A lot against either of these teams, rotate in Aidoo & Awaka at the 5 some as well. But I wouldn’t play 2 bigs unless ON was at the 4. The other 3 aren’t athletic enough to guard a smaller 4 on the perimeter.
I'm not sure I'd go that way. Seems like that's a lineup to play their small ball style. I want to force them to play our game and let us play our bully ball style. If they're red hot from 3 and we need to go small for defense, so be it, but to start, I want to muddy it up and play our style of ball.

We will own the paint on either team. Uros might even score a couple baskets

Only if he doesn’t foul out first. You can bet your bottom dollar the refs will be watching him like a hawk just waiting to blow the whistle on him from the second he enters the game, whether that be as a starter or off the bench. I expect an exceedingly tight whistle in our next game, regardless of the opponent, with the media screaming about how we were allowed to play football against Duke.

1st time I've watched Creighton. Their center is killing Baylor. Might have to call on Uros to do his thing if we meet them down the line 😄

Who would y’all rather play FAU or FDU? FDU is in New Jersey and we are going to be playing in New York so it may be a bit of a home court advantage for them. Both these teams are transition oriented teams, so I honestly don’t know what I would prefer.
FDU has seven fans. Some might attend. FAU is a much more dangerous team.

That will be the story of Thursday. Whistles are going to come fast and furious, media on a frenzy about our game and how we played - no matter how right or wrong they are about it.

Uros is already being watched like a hawk, saw it yesterday. It’s only going to get tighter as more eyes are watching and more on the line.

Hit layups and fdu is probably winning. Fau wants to run but take that away and they don't seem too strong in the halfcourt

Either/or. Both are going to be similar in their intensity and game plan. We have size galore on FDU, but look what they did against Purdue and their trees. FAU subs to create mismatches and pressures the ball hard.

Can’t overlook either team. But it’s as good of a spot to be in as we’ve had in a long time - IF we handle business.
They’re not totally different teams, but they would very different gameplans.

They’re totally different teams, and they would not have similar gameplans.

Their game plans against us would be similar (in my opinion) - pressure the ball, force turnovers, and create confusion with their speed/size mismatches. Wouldn’t be surprised to see either team press all game until they couldn’t do it either from getting busted or wore out.
