Assuming Pruitt is back in 2020 and he retains his current offensive staff, they need to know ASAP one big answer.
Do we have a current QB coming back and/or is Harrison Bailey an SEC level talent in game One of 2020.
If not, they simply must scour the country’s high school, juco, and transfer portal ranks.
We have to get someone that would be an EE that would sign during the early signing period.
I hope that Pruitt, Chaney, Weinke, and Tee are asking themselves this question every day.

Are we going to suddenly become an RPO dominated offense? Great! Another change of strategy on offense. That's great for a team! Does that mean Chaney is out, as well?

So Hill can only throw if he is in an RPO style offense? Glad you know all of this.

No. But Hill is a dual threat QB, transferring from an RPO offense, in Maryland. He's a great athlete, but not a great passing QB. I know the knock on Bailey is he isn't mobile enough. But he is a pure pocket passer. More to the liking of Chaney's style.

People keep saying Friend won’t be back next year. Am I missing something? I feel our OL has greatly improved compared to last season. *Genuine question*

You may need some edurcatin'. The folks on VN can determine the quality of a position coach solely based on the performance of said position group in any one (maybe 2) season(s). They are not wrong.

I'd be surprised if Friend isn't back next year--just a guess though. I wouldn't hold JG against Weinke either. All the coaching in the world isn't likely to fix a guy whose mind goes blank when he walks up to the line of scrimmage.

I think our qb situation will be resolved for next year. Hill or Mauer will get the first shot, I would think. Both will be serviceable and allow Bailey to rs.

Not saying it’s great, but the O line is the only thing I have seen improvement in since game 1.

Not impressed with the defensive front 7? I certainly am. Thought that’d be the weakest part of the team headed into the season but it’s become the strength.

I believe our OL has improved because Chaney has put a lot of his time helping them improve.

Not saying your wrong, and I’m glad to see someone who sees improvement.

However for me the D front looked bad vs Florida in passing situations. So far the D line has had 3 & 1/2 sacks......and 3 of them came in one game.

They gave up 151 yards rushing to Chattanooga, 107 to BYU, 213 to GA ST, and 128 to Florida.....not very good.

They also seem to be really far off the ball a lot. Maybe the coaches want them to be, but especially in shorter yardage situations.....I hope they tighten it up.

I am not trying to trash them, but for me I hope to see much more improvement from the D line.

I focus on pass rush which we have none of.. It’s what led to FL having middle of field wide open, even if coverage is decent QB has too much time
