why on earth is Tiger changing putters?

...he did disclose that he is putting a new putter in his bag for the first time in 11 years. Gone, at least for this week, is the Scotty Cameron Newport 2, a putter which has been in use for 13 of his 14 major championships going all the way back to May of 1999. Woods is going with a new Nike model called the Method. "I've always been tempted to change my putter on slower greens and I've always struggled when greens are really slow," Woods said. "I've always felt more comfortable when the greens are quick. I've always experimented with other putters throughout the years but I've never put one in play until now."

Stupid choice.

Who you got winning it? Rose may be a factor this week if he can keep up the hot streak.

this joint is for the bombers. Look like they've added some danger in the rough, but bombers win here.

got it. This is likely a much heavier model to help him with the 9.0's that will be staring him down. Back here, he'll go back.

I'm hoping for a win, and I'll be watching-but this is surprising.

I don't think there's much doubt that he simply had them make him a copy of his Cameron and added some weight. If he spends much of the early week making nothing, I'd guess we see the putter that has made more major putts than any in history.

If Tiger stays in the fairway, he can get the ball close enough at St Andrews to putt with a 2x4...

Judging by the video of his driver at 17 earlier though, that may be a sticky wicket for him.

That's my point. This is a big move for a guy who's more type A than a bomb squad tech.

wow, I had no idea...that changes things quite a bit

the rough they have out there now is going to make the place different. Formerly, the bombers could simply fire away from the bad bunkers, hit it 400 yards, wedge in and move on. Will play a bit differently this week. Should be fun.
