If you mention anything like this in the RF you get labeled a troll. I like the guys we brought in, but UGA and Bama are recruiting on an insane level.

Has zero to do with mentality, Tennessee simply does not have the talent that Bama, Georgia or even A&M does at this time. Very unlikely that Tennessee wins versus them in the next couple of years. Florida maybe you have an argument there but I’m not deciding the fate of any coach based on one head to head especially with the train wreck Heupel has inherited. You stick with Heupel as long as the program is trending up.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think UT wins bama or uga this year. They have more talent but UT has a precision offense. With 1 more season experience with heup, I could see Tennessee coming out on top of a 42-38 type game.

You’re all over the place! We could lose 2 out of 3 to SC, Mizzou, and UK and UK has better players but you think we will beat either Bama or UGA. Whew. I just got whiplash.

No doubt. If you aren’t beating Georgia or Alabama in the next two years and you play @Florida next year, then that would make this year’s game pretty critical to avoid that 0-9 scenario that is in the original post

How many times have we beaten Florida since 1990? How many times have we said the same thing you are saying here? Beating Florida should
Not be any kind of judge or indicator of Heupels coaching abilities. If you are saying that then we really haven’t had a good head coach since Majors.

You’re right we should just be ok with losing to Florida non stop even at their worst. I stand by what I said if we lose to Florida this season with what they’re going through then the question will and should arise.

Dude I’m not trying to get in an internet fight with you over this. I’m sure you have an ample supply of common sense but trying to apply common sense to Tennessee football is insane. Fact is the university hasn’t submitted their findings still to the NCAA and won’t announce anything about self imposed scholarship reductions until they do at the earliest. Now I’m sure you don’t believe that and fair enough you’re more than welcome to feel that way. I’m not trying to call you out as an idiot or know nothing or anything of the sort but in this particular instance you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I agree that there is is ample evidence that the UT administration is severely lacking in the common sense department. I just can't think of any reasonable explanation or benefit for them to keep any self imposed penalties a secret. Doing so just makes the coach look bad by not filling out a class.

Idk if there’s legal justification for it or if they think sanctions are going to be so damning that they’re slow rolling the “investigation” and self imposing as they go where the big part of the sanctions will already be taken. Or it could also be that Tennessee believes that the NCAA will be dissolved in another year or two.

I don't think it's any of that. I think it's just local reporters starting rumors and abused fans running with them.

Not reporters I’m hearing it from. But again I get the skepticism all the insiders and the frustration with the situation.
