Some producers actually want to make art too. It's like you guys have no idea how Hollywood works. Not everything is about making money. The bosses love to pay for prestige over $. You ever heard "one for us and one for them?" Probably not, but if you never heard that then I am right and you know next to nothing about the dynamics movie industry. And it's not a foregone conclusion that it hurts the box office. If the movie is great, you might have two woke people seeing it twice for every crybaby who stays home.

That's regardless of the politics at play.
Universal does not really care about "art". They want to recoup their $250M+ budget and monetize the hell out of it and make $$$ for their executives/shareholders....
The question is whether all of this free publicity will help or hurt. Ultimately, that will be dependent on the quality of the film. A decent film, as Disney has seen recently, is not enough once it gets in the cultural crosshairs...
