I was scrolling past and the bolded caught my eye. Yes many on the left practice groupthink and have poor critical thinking skills. The same also afflicts many who say they're conservative and in my view to a much greater extent, probably because there'sa longer, more entrenched culture of it there. A lot of R's have put their faith in and taken their talking points from grifters going back to Falwell, Robertson, Schlafly, and Limbaugh through to Charlie Kirk, Bridget Gabriel, Catturd, Libs of TikTok, and Laura Loomer. I wouldn't be chucking any rocks at 'liberals' for lack of intellect if I was you and lived in the most delicate of glass houses.

I think it comes in waves. one party will build up steam and pull in front, then the other reacts.

with typically the party in power being more "susceptible" to a group think as a defense mechanism of all things their guy in power. the party not in power adopts a different group think of attacking all things that guy, but imo that is usually the more correct default stance - they all suck so whoever is saying the guy sucks is going to be closer to the truth.
