Also the whole argument over what race the ancient Egyptians were is pretty dumb imo. They were a multicultural society. They were africans that probably varied between black and brown up until Greek rule, not that it matters whatsoever.
The "multicultural" tag is usually just a cop out by someone who doesn't want to admit that arguably the greatest civilization in antiquity was black. Usually this is based on an inherent belief that black people couldn't have created such a civilization thus the black presence in Ancient Egypt must have been slaves or lower caste individuals. I'm not saying you're saying that. It's just that most of the time when people say multicultural that's what they mean. Which is why I push back against it.
The reality is this. Ancient Egypt might have been "multicultural" in the most technical of terms. It was after all a vast kingdom that ruled over parts of the Levant in addition to Northeast Africa. However, the LEADERSHIP and ORIGINS of the civilization were black African. How do we know that? Well all the images I've posted are of Pharoahs and not just random Egyptians. Usually when those who want to do the "multicultural" trope post images of non-black Ancient Egyptians it's usually of insignificant individuals. It's rarely of Pharoahs and other important figures. In addition what is never mentioned by the "multicultural" crowd is the fact that the Ancient Egyptians looked to Southern Egypt as their homeland rather than the Mediterranean. Upper Egypt was in the south close to Nubia. And it was from this southern stronghold the Pharaohs of Egypt emerged and conquered the lands to the north.
And finally, the biggest death nail to the "multicultural" argument is the fact that the only populations living today that still practice the same cultural practices as the Ancient Egyptians are black Africans living to the south. If you go to the Afar Tribe for example in Ethiopia, you will see that to this day they still style their hair the exact same way as the Ancient Egyptians. They even wear similar clothes and have many of the same rituals. These rituals are seen in many other black African tribes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
What you'll never find is these Ancient Egyptian cultural practices in modern Arab or European populations. Nowhere in the Mediterranean is Ancient Egyptian culture still preserved. But in Sub-Saharan Africa you have many elements of Ancient Egyptian culture being preserved. That alone should tell you that Ancient Egypt was at its core a black African civilization. The only "multicultural" elements were in the lands they conquered and groups they assimilated into their culture. What Ancient Egypt wasn't was a non-black civilization that had some black people in it. Which is what I believe a lot of people actually mean they say it was "multicultural".
