That's racist!

"Republicans haven't paid a big price so far, but playing footsie with extremists is unlikely to end well. For the GOP's critics, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R–Ga.) is the gift that keeps on giving. Last month, Greene spoke to the America First Political Action Conference—a group that's popular among groypers (young, white-nationalist trolls)."

"To give you a sense of the optics, the attendees reportedly cheered loudly after former Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he's been called the "biggest racist in the country." That flustered Arpaio, who then asked: "What are you clapping for? That I am (the biggest racist) or that I'm not?" They also cheered when he said he's been accused of racial profiling."

Hey, Republicans: Stop Coddling Crazies and Puckering Up to Putin

Oh really? Shouting out the n-word isn't racist? It's 2022. And you just self-identified.

He admitted it was a mistake and said he won't use the word again, but context is everything. You could rightly call him a racist if he had shouted it at someone in an effort to racially harass or abuse someone of color. This was far from the case.

What a saint. He gets called out, then apologizes for PR purposes. Do you really think that if someone hadn't filmed that, he'd be apologizing? Now THAT is a dumb take.

It shouldn't just slip out that easily unless you're an actual racist. Know how you avoid saying the n-word? Don't think it. Know how not to think it? Don't be a damned racist. But yeah, my take was the dumb one, while you defend a racist.

I know that there are certain political elements giving cover to bigotry right now by getting more upset at wokeness and cancel culture, as if those are the real problems. But anyone with an ounce of moral backbone knows that bigotry is far worse than calling out bigotry, and has ZERO tolerance for it. Screw Morgan Wallen. I don't want him remotely associated with Tennessee. Of course, there are hordes of racists in this state who love him and will defend him, so he's not the only problem.

The fact that someone is permanently labeled a racist, one of the worst things one can possibly be, simply for uttering the magical syllables (in ANY context) is dumb, short-sighted, and gives cover to actual racists by watering down the meaning until the label becomes meaningless. It's fine to call out the use of the word - which I agree shouldn't happen, especially now - and chasten people who make the mistake, but the label "racist" should be saved for those who actually hurt or want to hurt people who are different from them.

My guy, he didn't even say it in a racist way. He's immature and made a mistake because even though he didn't mean it in a racist way, people take offense to it obviously. He apologized for it.

It's like you committing a sin or saying God's name in vain(G.D) and everyone saying you worship the devil now. Maybe a bad analogy but you get the point lol. Let it go. Forgive the dude if you're holding a grudge against him for that. It's not like he was holding a KKK meeting. Lol.

I don’t know the guy and it isn’t a word I would use as it would make me look crass, but are you just as strict when it comes to black people using the term? And why or why not?

Yeah.... that ain't it my dude.

I'm all for giving grace. People make mistakes and they can learn from them. But in this day if you don't know better than to not use that word, or downplay it as you've done, you're the problem.

It's all about context and it's pretty common in today's generation. Besides context, there is a difference in the hard R and A. Hard R is usually racist. When used with an A, it's no different than friend, buddy, dog, homeboy, etc.

Depending on the type of person you are and how you grew up and whom you grew up around, you can have a "pass" to use the word.

On the other hand if you and a bunch of white guys show up as strangers and start saying it to blacks, it'll probably be looked at negatively and drama will follow. It's basically an unspoken and understood rule.

NO ONE made a big deal out of the Morgan "situation" except those in the media and people who have never truly been around blacks. The black community almost 100% stood behind Morgan because they knew the difference and a T-shirt started trending in the black community that says "Morgan is my N***A"
